On the defence.

This RP is going to be about a fictional German assault on an Allied controlled town. You can RP as anyone: American, Canadian, British, Polish and even German. The only restriction is that your character can't be too high on the ladder. In other words, they can't be a general. Squad leader or tank driver (for the germans) is fine, but nothing major.

Here's the storyline:
A ragtag bunch of Allied squads has managed to secure a German town, Cottbus, but lost all armour in the process. They are ordered to defend the town until reinforcements arrive. What they do not know, is that a gathering of German forces is planning to retake the town, and will stop at nothing to do so.

The outcome is that the Germans will lose the battle, by the way.

I'll post my character info and start the RP in the next post.

Ok let's begin!

Waggoner lowered his binoculars and turned to the officer next to him.
"Is everything ready for the assault?"
The man nodded.
"We are ready when you are."
Waggoner turned away and looked back to the town.
"Then let's begin..."
The officer saluted and walked away.
Slowly, the squads of Nazi soldiers advanced toward the town. Waggoner barked a set of orders to his division and the 4 tanks moved alongside the infantry.

The assault had begun.

Gwazi was in the trenches, they were on guard for any Nazi invasion that could happen. It was muddy and quiet... to quiet.

Waggoner popped out of the Tiger's hatch and looked at the town once again. The defenders seemed to have constructed barricades and defences. They must have anticipated an attack.
He frowned. This might be a little harder, but their spotter planes hadn't reported any tanks. Without armour, the defences would fall in seconds.
Waggoner smirked to himself and retreated back into the tank.

Nate sat on the roof oh the church chewing some cherry gum. His spotter and support man sat next to him. Nate put his eye to the scope of the Springfeild and aimed at the tanks. He didn't fire, not yet.

(All right, since nobody else is joining,I'll beign the attack. Oh, Nate and Dunvar? You've got Allied NPCs you can control as well. They'd be the squad you arrived in.)

Once they were within 5km of the town, Waggoner ordered the division to halt.
"That's far enough. All tanks, load frag rounds and aim for the outer houses. Fire on my command."
Once again, he popped out of the tank's hatch and gazed at the town.
The soldiers around them would begin the attack once his tanks fired their first shots.

When every tank was ready, Waggoner lowered his binoculars and held his radio up to his mouth.
"Fire."
One by one, four tanks fired explosive rounds into the buildings on the outer edge of the town. They were merely houses, but defending infantry could be lurking inside of them.
Then the Nazi soldiers surged forward.

Waggoner raised his radio once again.
"Excellent. Continue fire on outer buildings until I give the order. Keep a sharp eye out for tank busters."
And sure enough, he heard the banging and clanking of the tank crews unloading and loading their tank's gun.

The defenders couldn't miss this.

(Question! Panther Tanks or Tiger Tanks?)

Nate fired at the Nazi storming the town.

"Jimmy! Get that 30 cal. going!"
Nate yelled to his support man. The 30 cal. machine gun fired ripping through anything that came in contact with the rounds. Nate only wished he had some anti tank rockets with him.

Nate fired his Springfield at anything that wasn't friendly. The tanks were firing at the houses.

Good, wast your ammo you scum bags.
Nate thought.

At Least the tanks weren't closer.


((Do to me not knowing how much Nazis are attacking and not wanting to godmode unless said i can, i will not say i have hit anything.))

(Don't you read my posts?! The division has three Panzer IVs, and Waggoner is the commander of a
Tiger I! Look back to my earlier posts for the pictures of both!!! Geez! Oh, and Nate, let's say there's 500 Nazi soldiers attacking. That might seem like much, but the allies have you guys.)

As the Nazis were met with a hail of gunfire, Waggoner was scanning the buildings for any soldiers that might pose a threat.
He noticed some gunfire coming from the roof of the church, and he frowned.

Waggoner squatted down into the Tiger.
"Sniper on the roof of the church. Eliminate him."
The three men nodded and soon the barrel of the Tiger was aimed towards the church's roof.

The entire tank shook as the shell flew out of the gun, exploding at the base of the roof.

(OOC: Oh)

Gwazi and his men saw the charging infantry and began firing from the trenches, it was the best they could do.

Nate was a a good sniper, a good sniper indeed. But if was one thing he knew how to do better then sniping it was dogging tank shells. However, jumping from a church roof to avoid death had its downsides. And as Nate jumped, he smashed into the side of a building caving in the wall. Nate looked at the men inside.

"Time to go boys!"
Nate called as he ran. Nate ran down the street to the Town Hall.

"Get a 30 cal. set up! Both sides of the street. They are only attacking from one way, we should be able to hold them off. This is king of the hill boys. Town Hall is the base. The walls should be able to hold off whatever tanks they got."
Nate yelled as he found a window inside the building to snipe.

Nate started killing anything that came near. When the 30 cals. were set up they should have enough firepower to hold off the ground attack. But the tanks were going to be a problem.

Lets get this party started.
Nate though as he put a bullet through a Nazi's head

Waggoner cursed as the unharmed sniper leapt off the roof of the building.
A miss!
Another officer sprinted up to the tank.
"Sir! Our soldiers are getting massacared. We need armored support in the streets!"
Waggoner nodded and picked up his radio.
"Now hear this. We're going into the town. Each tank take a street. I want one of you on the MG, we can't afford any losses."
He looked over at the town.
"My tank will take 1st Street. The next tank will take 2nd street, and so on. Our objective is the Town hall. We take that, and it's over."

With that, Waggoner crouched into the tank, closing the hatch behind him.
As one, the four tanks rumbled towards their assigned streets. Some of the infantry in the trenches began retreating away.
Good.
Anyone stupid enough to stand in their way would be either blown to pieces or crushed underneath the treads.

Gwazi then yelled at the men "Throw your grenades at the Panther tanks! Their weaker and can be killed more easily!". The men did as ordered but all cleared the trenches before they could see the result of their attack fleeing into the town.

Nate saw the tanks roll down the street and frowned.

You got to be fucking kidding me. Since when is this fair?
Nate though as he fired more shots from his springfeild.

Nate could no longer keep up with the advancing tanks. The foot soldiers, because of the tanks storming the streets, grew balls and got out of their defensive positions and charged the Town Hall. Then an angel called.

"Sir! We got an RPG with 4 rockets!"
A troop called.

Nate grabbed the RPG from the troopers hands and aimed at the nearest tank and fired.

(Dunvar, I'll assume that when you say Panther, you mean Panzer IV.)

The infantry in the trenches retaliated, throwing grenades at the advancing armour.
Waggoner heard the explosions, but felt no vibration.
Odd. He picked up his radio.
"All Panzers: Damage report."
"This is one: Minimal damage to treads."
"Two here: We're shook up, but nothing serious."
"Three: No damage what so ever."

Waggoner put down the radio and breathed a sigh of relief. He was suprised that the infantry hadn't thrown their ordanance at the Tiger. It was the most heavily armoured and heavily armed tank in the division...
Ah well. Their loss.

As the tanks continued up their streets, Waggoner heard a burst of static come from the radio.
Followed by a transmission.
"This is one! They've got rockets! Repeat: They have-arhgtgfgafgfhh....."
Waggoner's heart skipped a beat.
"One, report!...Report NOW damnit!"
But there was nothing.
Cursing, Waggoner grabbed his Kar98k and popped out of the hatch. As they passed an intersection, he saw the tank in question.
It was in flames, and there was a large hole in the front.

Furious, he crouched back into the tank and held up the radio.
"Two and Three: upon view of the town hall, you are ordered to open fire. They have rockets, so be on your toes!"

Nate saw the tank go KABOOM and smiled. He always did when doing something like that.

"30 cals! Get in here and set up out the gun slit. I don't want you getting killed before we get the chance to make another tank's day."
Nate called to the gunners.

Nate loaded another rocket into the RPG and shot at a tank. Sadly, it missed and instead crumbled the building next to it. Nate reloaded and fired again.

Where is that god damn kid and his squad?
Nate thought.

Waggoner heard an explosion and immediatly radioed the other tanks.
"I heard an axplosion. Anyone hit?"
"One: We're fine."
"Two: We almost got hit, but it missed us."
Pleased, Waggoner put down the radio. The gunner turned to him.
"Commandant, the Town hall is in range."
Waggoner grinned.
"Then one second."
Grabbing his binoculars, he popped out of the hatch and searched for the rocketeer.
There!
Immediatly, he went back into the tank.
"Ground floor. Third window. Take him out."
Almost as soon as he finished speaking, the turret began to turn. The barrel aimed...
"Fire!"
A shockwave shook the tank as the round went speeding towards it's target.

(OOC: We're foot soldiers, we can't do much).

Gwazi and his men fled into the town and took position behind some sandbag barricades, they then unleashed fire on charging infantry and hoping to at least blind the pilots of the tanks so they would crash in the trenches.

Nate saw the tank coming.

"You got to be fucking kidding me."
Nate muttered as he ducked. The shell went right over his head crashing into the wall behind him.

Nate was thrown forward which, due to being up against the wall already, didn't work out so well and he was slammed against the wall and sprayed with shrapnel. Nate got himself up leaning on the window and yelled at the gunmen to cover him so he could go past the window and get the RPG.

Nate waited for the awnser and turned his head. Everyone but him was dead. Blown to bits from the tank. Nate crawled across the ground to the RPG and fired the last rocket. He was aiming at the Tiger.

Waggoner looked at his gunner.
"Well? Is he dead?"
The man paused for a moment.
"I think...No commandant, he's getting back up..."
Suddenly he turned to Waggoner.
"He just fired a rocket at us! We need to move!"
Waggoner shook his head.
"Aim the gun away and brace for impact."
Every man in the tank looked at him in unison. They all had the same shocked expression.
"Impact? Sir, that's a rocket! You saw what it did to-"
"I saw what it did to a Panzer IV! We are in a Tiger. There's four inches of solid steel protecting us from the blast. Believe me, that rocket is NOT going to do much!"

As if in response, the entire tank shook with the force of an explosion, knocking every man to the ground. Waggoner was the first to stand up.
"Damage?!"
The driver was the first to respond.
"We lost out front machine gun...other than that, everything's in working order."
Waggoner put on a wild grin.
"Then deploy smoke launchers, and wait for my signal."
Soon, the smoke from the rocket was surrounded in grey smoke as the launchers went off.
The tank was soon cloaked in a large cloud of blackish-grey smoke.

With any luck, it would look like the rocket did decent damage.

"God damnit!"
Nate yelled as the RPG did nothing. But then smoke started spewing out of the Tiger.

"Waa.....?"
Nate muttered.

Nate charged the Tiger and jumped onto it. The smoke covered him from the Nazi's. Nate stuck his M1 into the view port of the Tiger and fired 8 rounds. The familiar Ping was made and Nate reloaded. He ran from the tank towards the Nazis. He was heading for Duvnar.

Silence followed as the smoke surrounded the tank.
The gunner peered into the viewport, looking for anything hostile. Nothing...
Suddenly, 8 shots exploded into the viewport, all hitting him straight in the face. The man slumped to the floor.
The 3 remaining men sat in stunned silence for a moment, until Waggoner spoke up.
"Back up NOW!"
"But sir-"
"I'll take over, just move this damn tank!"
As Waggoner hurried into the empty chair, the tank immediatly began to back up.

Nate found GWAZI by the sandbags holding off the enemy with desperate machine gun fire. Gwazi saw Nate coming and said "By any lucky chance do you have any RPG's on you?".

Nate looked at Gwazi and laughed.

"No. I lost the last one on the Tiger. We are down to three tanks. All of which are moving and shooting. I think the Tiger's machine gun is knocked out but nothing else."
Nate called as he gunned down three Nazis.

"We need to fall back to town hall! Now!"
Nate yelled over the gunfire.

As the Tiger reversed, Waggoner peered through the viewport. He couldn't see where the assailant had gone, but he assumed that he was still alive.
Waggoner held the radio up to his mouth.
"Now hear this! All tanks retreat to our original point of assault. I have a new plan, and I need both of you."
Without waiting for a response, he put down that radio and looked down at the fallen gunner.
"He was a good man...I will make that arschloch pay for what he has done."

The Tiger was the first to arrive at the meeting point. The fighting had been concentrated in the town, so they were relatively safe.
Soon, the two Panzer IVs arrived. They stopped near the Tiger, and Waggoner popped out of the hatch. The other two commanders did the same.

"Right. Here's the plan. We obviously can't take the town hall by a straightforward assault, so we're going to go around. I will take 3rd street, and you two will take 1st and 5th. When you see the town hall, I want you to take no chances. Fire on sight."
He held up a finger.
"On no condition are you to fire smoke launchers. The last time we tried, our gunner was killed. If someone approaches your tank, either run them over or back up and take them out with your weapons."
Waggoner folded his arms and prepared to get back into tank.

"Good luck gentlemen."
With that, the three tanks rumbled down their streets.
