And I loved the LOTR movies when I first saw them, but the books are 1.7 DECTILLION times more EPIC than the movies. Read them! Read them all! Read them NOW! I'm going to start reading The Simillarion next, but I suggest reading that first. Throughout the books they make reference to all of the legends of Middle Earth and such, and you won't understand anything if you don't read The Simillarion. Also, it gets more into great characters like Galadriel, Isisldur, Beren, and Mithrandir(Gandalf).
