8. Gladiators

Duvnar saw the Rancor knocked out and ready to die, he raised his sword over the rancors head and stabbed it downs straight into it's skull. He then pulled his sword out and said "Someone else stab it just incase".

Zane replied to Tressa "Theirs the Golden Eagle, it's 20 minutes from here so it's a quick walk. However I left then in the ship and know I'm out investigating so they'll be coming with us".

Appan was drifting in and out of consciousness, through this haze he felt someone grasp under his shoulders and drag Appan. Opening his eyes believing that it was the creature but was greeted by the sight of another man. Appan signed and closed his eyes again, he was in no fit state to protest.

The man let go as he brought Appan behind a tree which was very sturdy, no sooner had the man done this he was gone again. Appan moved slowly to prop himself up against the trunk of the tree, the pain seemed to be subsiding, but he was still very sore when he moved.

Appan could hear the sounds of the battle with the creature on the other side of the tree, the battle seemed to go awefully quit, to quit! Appan pushed his body to stand, by using the tree for support, taking a look around the tree.

"Someone else stab it just incase." It seemed came from Duvnar who was pulling his sword from it's skull. Appan limped from his tree while holding his right arm, to give several coughs. "I would, but I seem to have mislaid....." He court sight of the weapon on the ground not far from himself, to make his painful way towards it. "There it is."

Nate stabed the Rancor in the eye several times. More to get rid of the anger inside him then to kill it. He could feel it. He could feel it coming.


"GIVE ME SOMETHING HARD TO FIGHT!"
Nate roared.

Glan Finally got through the trees. He saw the rancor was already dead. "Damn, i missed the fight."

"They are admirable fighters." said the hutt.

"I believe that they need to rest." says a Baragwin.

"I shall send them to their cells." says the hutt. "No, it is time they become teams"

"Yes,"

Glan looked up as the Huttese voice boomed through out the stadium again. "It is time you rest. You will become teams," The forest faded out like a hologram. "Glan, Appan, Duvnar, and the Nogri will be on the frist team" the other tow doors opened." the Rest will be on the other team. Each team go to your door and rest."

(Glan, I sort of killed the tusken raider... sorry)

Argus stood from his defensive position and rubbed his chin with the back of his sword hand. Pulling it away revealed a good deal of blood that was soaking his chin. He passed it off as a small wound to be fixed once he got out of this mess.

Brucs was given the control over the holoset as he was now feared in the bar he had occupied. There was even a measurable radius that men kept their distance besides the bartender. Woman seemed to find him attractive but he wasn't paying attention, just snapping at them in his native tongue when their hands blocked his vision of the arena events happening. He was paying close attention because his 'partner' was one of the main competitors and was injured in the first match.

"C'mon Argus, boss won't like it if you die."

(missed it sorry, but that is what he is for )

Duvnar looked at Cared and said to him "When we fight we will give them a show, but I will not kill you".

Panting heavily, Caredetru watched the beast dragged down in it's final defeat. He pondered the efforts of all of those involved, and as the Hutt's words echoed in his ears, Duvnar spoke to him.
"How noble of you." Caredetru replied, walking away after he did so. There was no guarantee given as to whether or not he would return the favor.

"When you say 'Them' or 'They', who exactly are you talking about?" Tressa inquired, beginning the journey.

"I mean Ejii and Gwazi, their part of the crew" Zane replied.

"Sometimes, to come out alive... you must make a sacrifice. Be it your life, or someone else's...." this message was focused on Cared, who could end up face to face against his gand friend "A man named John Fates once told me this.... same thing...."

He returned to walk the corridor to the next challenge ahead, flicking his blood covered thumb across his nose he moved on. Mentioning John Fates a blast to the past for him, thinking on the events of M'Bardi. The prison planet was his birth place.... where he changed lives... became something else.

Appan could only listen to the voice around him. He hung his head, as he made his way towards his teams door. He'd heard who he was going to be with, giving a grunt of acknowledgement to them. It was not out of disrespect, more out of pain. His right shoulder still felt like fire, his back was stiff from the bruising that would soon start to show. "So could do with a bacta bath right now." He said laboriously stretching his back.

"Where the hell is he?" Came Boro's voice from behind the nerf shed. Appan had said he'll be back before morning, damn kid brother. Boro kicked at the dirt, and walked across the yard onto a small landing pad where the Capercaillie sat in the Alderaanian sun. "Appan, get you arse out here or I'm gonna kick it from here to the unknown regions. You know Pa wants those nurf's in before first light." He starts up the boarding ramp. "Just 'cause you've done a couple of bounties you think the galaxy revolves around y....."

Nate had not gotten any rest. He sat on the ground messing with his sword. He couldn't, just couldn't fight Duvnar or Glan. Glan, a close friend and Duvnar, not only a hold fire was between them but he had a family.

I will do my best to protect them.
Nate thought waiting.

Glan walked through the team doors. It was much better than He would think. There was a huge view port showing off the star scape and a nebula. Around the room was a few chairs and enclosed bedding spaces. In another enclosed area was a Bacta tank and other medical supplies.

What drew his attention the most though was the life size hologram of a hutt. Beside the hutt was a Wall shield, an enforcer with 5 rounds, a regular length sword, a few throwing knifes, and Steel plated armor for each of them.

"Welcome to your in between battle holding areas." It is obvious that he his speaking to both teams. "Each of you gets armor. You each get to chose one new weapon or protection on top of that, Chose wisely. I will answer a few of your questions"

Duvnar looked at the new weapons available and chose the finest made vibroblade available and said "This will do nicely". The only person on his team he really cared about was Appan and even then not that much. The only people he really cared about getting out alive were on the other team.

(OOC: Sorry Glan but this is five years before Gwazi and Glan joined TSV)

Glan Hefted the Wall Shield. Examining it, he believes that it should withstand laser fire for a period of time.

Argus entered the holding area, the shield caught his eye and he took it with greed. Seeing the new set of armor he swapped on the spot. Heavier armor made him sleep better, it was reassuring. With his sword and tall shield he though of the spear that the Rancor had left behind after its death, it would be been perfect for this combination. He wondered if it would still be there during the next match.

"So whens there going to be another match?"

(You mind if i change the sword into a saber?)

As Nate entered the team cells. There lay one thing, a amazing perfect Saber. The metal blade ran a full six and a half feet long and almost looked better then his nine foot one on his ship. Or he hoped it was on his ship anyways.

If that fucking Hutt stole my saber i swear to god i will kill him.
Nate thought.

Nate held the saber closely and for the first time thought there might be a chance to live.

(A saber means alot to Nate as it is the first weapon he held. He still has his saber from Kashyyyk.)

Appan followed the rest of the team into the holding area, on looking around he was to find the enclosed area with a Bacta tank and other medical supplies. Not been medically minded but for basics, he managed to slap on several bacta patches over and around his shoulder, asking for help with applying some to his back.

Returning to the main holding area he took no notice of the life size hologram of a Hutt yet listen to what it had to say. He was drawn to the few throwing knifes, that lay on the table. He flicked them about in his hands, feeling their weight and finding their balance. Taking two and placed them in his boots. Before wiped the sword that he'd used in the arena, he sat on one of the chairs.

"...Chose wisely. I will answer a few of your questions." Picking up the new armour Appan's eyes fell on the hologram an started to pull it on. 'Questions!' Shot through his mind. "I've got one for you. Why us?"

((OOC: Ummm! I'll get straight to the point. I'm not comfortable with such strong swearing.))

"The next match will be in four hours," the Hutt responded. "the Holodeck needs reconfigured. You were each hand picked as top combat persons."

Duvnar stared at his sword as he said "I'm ready...".

He didn't care who died here, as long as Cared and Nate made it out alive, perhaps Appan but Cared and Nate were his top priority.

The response from the Holo-generated Hutt was a surprise as Appan had not expected it to be a two way comm's. But it did give him reason to raise a smile. 'So that's a holodeck. Never thought I'd ever see one of them. Must have cost them a lot of credits.' He mused to himself as he continued with the armour.

He looked around the group that had been thrown together, generally he worked alone but for the odd occasion he was know to work with others. As he did so he wondered in what types of combat specialist each team member were. In any case he knew that for them, any of them to come out of this alive. They would have to work together, they'd already show that they could against the Rancor. Appan shook his head not in response to Duvnar, even though it may have looked like it.

(( Umm Duvnar? I know Nate and you kissed and made up but why is Nate wanted alive?))

Nate looked at the Hutt.

"So what exactly will we be fighting? If you think anyone will fight each other you must be crazy. All that would do is kill us all. We stand a better chance working together."
Nate said as he got the balance of the saber.

(OOC: Kissed? Hell no, but he does have loyalty from the alliance/peace made).
